Stronger together – 2019 Year in Review
As 2019 draws to a close, we'd like to say thanks for being a part of the Ignition community. Let's reflect on the year that was.
Better everyday
2019 saw the release of new efficiency boosting features and enhancements to your Ignition experience.
- ACH verification improved for American customers
- Single Sign On with Xero
- Enhancements to marketing brochures, email templates and service descriptions
- Fresh updates to reporting capabilities
- More automation opportunities with Zapier
- Client self-service payment retries
- AMEX payments in Australia
- Direct Debits launched in the UK
Connecting with you
This year, we met you at over 60 events worldwide including Xerocon (San Diego, Brisbane and London) and Quickbooks Connect (London, Melbourne, San Jose and Toronto).
We hosted 9 Precon parties across the globe and brought together over 5,000 accountants and bookkeepers at these events. The reason we host #Precon is to give you the chance to kick off big conferences on a high note. It’s our way of giving back to the community and sharing in the fun with the support of our sponsors. We even won an award for our Precon parties at the British Accounting Marketing Awards.
You came out in force to our events and online meetups. In total, 10,000 of you joined us at our masterclasses and webinars. We look forward to hosting you again next year.
By the numbers
Together, you (our customers) got paid over 551,587 times this year through Payments in Ignition. We helped connect you with your clients over 140,000 times – across 23 countries.
This was made possible with –
- 24+ brand new features
- 230+ enhancements
- 125+ bugs squashed
- 13,669 support questions solved
Fuelled for growth
In September, we announced our A$26 million raise led by Tiger Global Management. This announcement was a milestone for our team, as we continue to transform the way accountants and bookkeepers work alongside their clients.
This raise will enable us to continue building a product that solves acute challenges faced by accountants and bookkeepers when engaging and managing client relationships.
To collaborate, celebrate and plan for the journey ahead, our global Ignition team came together in Indonesia for #IgnitionConf. This time of community contributed to the direction of our product and purpose for the New Year.
To help facilitate our rapid global expansion, we’ve expanded our teams in each region. We announced the addition of Jackie Brian (CRO), David New (Head of APAC), Matt Kanas (Head of AMER), Emma Crawford-Falekaono (Head of EMEA) and Rebecca Mihalic (Head of Accounting - APAC), along with 50 new team members, all excited to help you transform the way you work.
The Ignition family continues to grow with the birth of four bubs this year. Congratulations to Tom, Rudy, Ella, Nick and their families.
