Utilize the flexibility of the billing Schedule for client billing
The Billing Schedule found in your client’s file is where you can view and modify any future billing items. You can pause, delay and modify these billing items in Ignition allowing you to hold control and allow flexibility with client billing.
How to pause billing
If you have automatically recurring charges set up for a client in Ignition, you can easily pause their billing for the next month or further into the future.
Open the client file > Billing Schedule > select the next upcoming billing item and move it from Automatic to Manual billing. The billing items will move to the Billed Manually section which will pause the billing for that period.
You can follow these instructions to pause billing for future periods as well. This allows you the flexibility of pausing billing and adapting to your client’s needs.
How to delay billing
Open the client file > Billing Schedule > select the next upcoming billing item > edit the bill date. This is a one-time delay and their future payment schedule (e.g. the first of every month) will remain the same.
How to split up a billing item
If your client needs to adjust their upcoming bill due to cashflow issues, you can easily split their next bill into installments.
Open the client file > Billing Schedule > select the next upcoming billing item > edit the bill date > update the billing to Manual.
You will now have a list of all the services individually, you can select the service by one or multiple and add a new bill date. The Billing Schedule allows you to take your automatically billed items and flip them to manually billed and control them however you and your client need. Bill them now, bill one service re-organize and re-group them into instalments.
