Ignition unveils latest innovations to enable accountants and professional services to maximize revenue
Product enhancements include pricing increase tool, along with new billing and payments features, to improve firm efficiency and profitability
Austin, Texas, September 25th — Ignition, the leading all-in-one platform for professional services businesses to get paid faster and run smarter, today announced its next wave of product innovation.
The new platform enhancements help firms boost revenue, profitability and efficiency, including:
- Automatically raising prices when renewing client agreements
- Billing and collecting payment for out-of-scope work with Instant Bill
- Creating or renewing proposals in bulk in minutes
- Instantly converting invoices into Ignition proposals to save time
- Flexibility to pass on payment surcharges to clients
- Offering Apple Pay and Google Pay as payment options
“Over the past 12 months, the Ignition platform has evolved significantly to help firm owners tackle scope creep, late payments and become more efficient in a leaner macro-economic environment”, says Dane Thomas, Ignition Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer. “Our latest product enhancements help accounting and professional services businesses to reach their full revenue potential, enabling them to easily manage all their revenue and payments in a single solution.”
Increasing revenue and profitability
Ignition will be releasing a new pricing feature in the coming months to enable customers to automatically increase prices when renewing client agreements. This follows the recent launch of Instant Bill to bill and get paid for out-of-scope work without the need to create a new client proposal.
“We hear time and time again that firm owners put off increasing their prices to avoid awkward client conversations, or because they lack the time and confidence”, says Dane Thomas. “We want to take the emotion out of raising prices by incorporating price increases into the client renewal process.”
Boosting efficiency
Ignition has also launched a suite of features enabling customers to create bulk proposals and renew agreements in minutes. Whether firms need to engage 10 or 100 clients, they can quickly create and send proposals in bulk using a template, or bulk renew existing client agreements. Ignition also released Invoice Import, which instantly converts recurring invoices from Xero or QuickBooks Online into Ignition proposals.
“Engaging new or existing clients during year end and tax season can be a very time-consuming process,” says Dane Thomas. “Our new bulk proposals, renewals and invoice import features help minimize the admin time involved, so accounting and tax professionals can focus on doing the actual client work.”
Improving cash flow
With the rising popularity of digital wallets, Apple Pay and Google Pay are now widely available as payment options for Ignition customers in the US and Australia, offering clients more convenient ways to pay. This follows new functionality to collect payment details in bulk for clients without a payment method on file to help firms get paid faster.
Ignition now also offers customers the flexibility to pass on credit card processing fees to clients in the US and Australia should they wish to recover the costs (currently in beta).
“Our research shows 94% of accounting firms chase clients for late payments,” says Dane Thomas. “Our latest features offer customers more flexibility and control over the payment collection process to ensure they get paid on time.”
Facilitating industry change
Ignition recently launched the #CallForChange movement, backed by more than 100 accounting leaders, to inspire accountants to stop underselling and reclaim the profitability of the profession. Customers using Ignition save on average over 18 hours per week engaging clients, managing scope changes, and billing, collecting and reconciling payments.
